We would
like to invite Swappers to make a donation for the needy on the Northern Beaches.
The Salvos need non perishable items such as tinned ham, fruit cake, Christmas puddings and long life custards etc to make hampers to distribute to these families in less fortunate situations.
If you are interested in helping please donate to this by Tuesday 13th December, bring any items along to our breakfast.
Outcomes from Kathy's presentation:
Kathy is a self confessed ‘shopaholic’ and the author of Shopping Confessions, shoppingconfessions.com.au the popular website and ebook which is a one-stop-shop introduction to shopping online.
Kathy has quickly become the ‘online shopping guru’ for Australia and is heavily in demand to share her knowledge on the subject. There is hardly a week that goes by without Kathy commenting on online shopping trends on primetime TV from ‘A Current Affair’ to ‘The Morning Show’, with her own segment ‘Bag a Bargain’.
As well as appearing on TV she also has a weekly column and blog for Sunday Telegraph ‘shop SMART’ which is now one of the most read sections on the paper.
Kathy says “There are so many different areas of your life where dollars can be saved. The trick to getting value for money is in the research and being informed. I’m thrilled to be able to share all of my shopping experiences and money saving ideas - whatever you’re looking for”
Kathy saw the opportunity to take the hard work out of online shopping, compiling a list of the best websites from Australia and around the world. After years of research, Kathy's shopping secrets and confessions make up her eBook, Shopping Confessions, which is soon to be updated with a much bigger A-Z online shopping directory.
Kathy is married with 2 teenage step children, but before she was married her motto was “Dress for Success”, and presentation was everything! Kathy always dressed to the nines and money was not a problem when it came to fashion, her clients knew her as the girl with the fab shoes in finance!
Once she was married and had other financial priorities, Kathy started to learn how to shop for a bargain online and she has not looked back since.
Kathy resonates with viewers and shoppers because they relate to her, she is from Greek heritage, lives in the burbs, has children and tells it as it really is, and her passion for shopping and getting a bargain is quite infectious.
People are so inspired and influenced by Kathy’s tips on what sites to use, that companies have reported to have had their biggest day of business ever following Kathy giving them a mention on TV or in her column.
So Kathy certainly has quite a powerful story for the girl who has made her hobby into her profession and is loving every moment of it!
Kathy will talk about how she turned a hobby into a full time business that has expanded to importing a clothing label from Miami and the launch of shoe confessions in a couple of weeks.
